Good morning! It’s our last few hours in Pondicherry, sadly. It is such a beautiful town with their colorful architecture and great shopping scene.

Many of us claimed that we were going to get up early to use the pool but unfortunately no one woke up… So we all started our day instead with another delicious breakfast. I had some amazing dosa and chai.

Afterwards, we headed off to see a few more sights of Pondicherry before we head off to Chettinad.

We went to an ashram and a temple. Pictures were not allowed at both but they were both beautiful sights. It was super interesting hearing more about Hinduism from our tour guide and observing others there.

A lot of us also did some last minute souvenir shopping in Pondicherry either buying books from the ashram or magnets and other little fidgets from the stands outside the temple.

Of course, we also had to make a pitstop at a cafe before leaving for a seven hour car ride to Chettinad.

Midway through our ride, we stopped at a restaurant perched next to a river for lunch, where we tried to spot some peacocks while awaiting our food. I had some grilled fish.

Afterwards we went to a huge temple nearby that was absolutely breathtaking. All the carvings were so intricate despite being made over 1000 years ago and we were told the whole temple was made in only 12 years.

We then made our final stretch to Chettinad before reaching our hotel. Upon reaching, we had a huge dinner and wrapped up our night early.
