We successfully made it to our guesthouse for the school at midnight and were kindly greeted with beautiful bouquets made by the gardeners. Our group quickly settled down, finished up some last minute planning for our activities and got some rest before our first day at the school.

A few hours later, we were up and ready for our first school day.

We were met with a delicious breakfast spread downstairs before we chartered off.

At the school, we were greeted by all the staff and students with flowers and music. It was such an amazing experience and an honor how welcoming everyone was.

Our activities for the first day consisted of learning Caesar’s Cipher, AI Training and Testing, State Machines and how IOE affects sustainability. The students were all so engaged and picked up on the concepts quickly.

I think the biggest hit was the IOE sustainability where students got to create their own villages and choose how to power them.

We also sat with the students during their lunch which was so fun. A few taught basic Marathi while I talked to others about their dream occupations.

Afterwards, we headed back to our house for lunch. I thought the breakfast spread was the best it could get and somehow they topped that with their lunch spread.

We then headed back to the school to hear from staff. They gave a presentation about Marathi culture, including natural and cultural sites.

In return, Arman and Kaamaakshi gave a presentation about Social Media’s Effect on Youth in the US.

Afterwards, some staff did henna for all of us. It was so fun and so impressive how beautiful they made all of ours.

Our group headed back to our place afterwards and were able to wrap up our night early(ish) to wake up bright and early for yoga the next morning.
