Day 14: See you later!

Dear loyal readers, thank you so much for following along with our journey through India! Although our trip has come to an end, we have so many memories that we will remember forever! On our last day in India, we woke up at our hotel in Mysore and headed to a vegetable market to see some local produce and meet some sellers. We bought last minute souvenirs like sandalwood soap, bangles, and sweets for our friends and family back home. Afterwards, we returned to our hotel to pack up and headed to Bangalore. During the three hour trip, we reminisced on our trip and drove through the streets of India one last time! 

In the early afternoon, we arrived at the Mall of Asia, a huge shopping mall outside of Bangalore. Because our flights were at different times and our tour guide had to leave earlier than us, we spent the last portion of our trip exploring the mall while waiting for our flights. We enjoyed a variety of foods at the food court, checked out clothing and makeup stores, and hung out throughout the mall.

In the early evening, some members of our trip started to leave the mall to get to the airport in time for their flights. At 9pm, the last of us headed to the Bangalore airport to make the journey home. Our first flight was nine hours long and landed in Frankfurt, and our second flight brought us back home to Detroit.

We are all so thankful for this opportunity, which was made possible by SWE, the University of Michigan, and so many others. This trip was incredibly exciting and eye-opening, and I couldn’t have asked for a better experience. From Mumbai to Walchandnagar to Cochin, Wayanad, and Mysore, we shared so many laughs, ate amazing food, saw beautiful sites, and most importantly, met the most welcoming people. I sincerely hope that we’ll get to meet some of them again in the future. Thank you so much for following along with our journey!
