Goodbye NYC!

Today we woke up at 3 AM to catch our 6:00 flight back to DTW.

We left for the airport at 4 AM, and it was so weird seeing the streets of Manhattan and Queens so empty - there were still quite a few cars, but barely any pedestrians, and it was like an entirely different city. We got on our flight back and landed in DTW at around 8 AM. We got breakfast at Chick-Fil-A and I had a chocolate peanut butter smoothie from Pinkberry that was literally life-changing, and I am contemplating going to Briarwood in Ann Arbor just to get another one. After we got back to Ann Arbor, I went back to my house and was so happy to be back in my own bed that I slept for pretty much the rest of the day. Oops...

It breaks my heart having left NYC (and to have woken up that early....), but this week was an amazing experience. It felt awesome being able to make an impact on the students we worked with and help them discover how much fun engineering can be, as well as show them how amazing my school is! As someone who also left the East Coast to go to Michigan, it was cool being able to talk to these kids about all of the differences between our homes and Ann Arbor and how adjusting to them is so worth it to be able to have the Michigan experience. I'm definitely going to remember this week for a long time!
